CONGRATULATIONS LYNDSEY!

On March 9, 2014 our very own, Lyndsey McCall, passed her final examination on the floor of the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina confirming her Call to serve as an Ordained Minister of the Word and Sacrament at Monroe Camp & Retreat Center.  MCRC invites the community to worship with us as we celebrate Lyndsey’s Ordination and Commissioning at 1:00pm in Boyd Hall at Monroe.
We are delighted to have Lyndsey McCall, once again, in our midst.  Lyndsey grew up in Harnett County and graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 2007 with her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Ministries.  “SAPC was the perfect college for me.  I received a great education that really prepared me for seminary.  The small college atmosphere also provided me with the opportunity to develop my leadership skills through serving on Student Government, holding positions with numerous campus organizations, and as an Admissions Tour Guide.  I’m grateful for the entire St. Andrews experience that has helped me to develop into who I am today.” While in college, Lyndsey became a member at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church and worked on summer staff for MCRC as their “Program Director” in summers 2007 & 2008.
In August 2007, Lyndsey moved to Richmond, VA to attend Union Presbyterian Seminary where she earned her Master’s of Divinity degree.  While in Richmond she served several churches as a Youth Director, Solo Pastorate Intern, as a retirement community chaplain and as the distinguishing position of Youth Ministry Coordinator for the Presbytery of the James for almost 3 years.
In February 2013, Lyndsey McCall returned to Scotland County to serve as Monroe Camp and Retreat Center’s Director.  In fulfilling God’s call for Lyndsey and for Monroe, she will be Ordained and Commissioned to the position on April 5, 2014.
“Returning back to Scotland County and serving as MCRC’s Director is truly a blessing.  With a year under my belt, I feel that this year’s summer camp and the overall ministry at Monroe is going to be that much better. I’m excited to be part of Monroe’s future.  I’m thrilled to be getting ordained and extremely pleased to be serving a community and ministry that has meant so much to me.”
MCRC welcomes you to join us for Lyndsey McCall’s Ordination at 1:00pm on April 5, 2014.
