It is required to have off-duty, uniformed Scotland County Sheriff Deputies during events where alcohol is readily available for consumption.

Weddings must have event insurance. Event insurance can be purchased through your car/home insurance agent or purchased online. A copy is required to be submitted to the Office Manager before the wedding group’s arrival.

How does the security deposit work?
We use the refundable security deposit to hold your desired date and in case of trash or damages. Please note the refundable security deposit is done in addition to the cost of the event.
Can hosts or guests bring RVs?
RVs are not available on-site.
Do I have to share the property?
If you are the first group booking a weekend, you have the first right of refusal on a Privacy Fee. The Privacy Fee ensures that your group will be the only group on site, and no tours or individuals who are not staff will be on-site the day of the event.
If you agree to be the second group to book a weekend, we do not rent the same building to multiple groups for a single day, so while there are two or more groups on the property, other than passing each other, you will not need to share space. Example: Wedding in Boyd Hall and Family Reunion in Hafer.
In the summer, wedding dates are only offered on Saturdays.
Can wedding groups also book camp activities?
Yes! If your group is interested in booking the pool, lake, or adventure activities, we can arrange it to be available to your group (weather permitting).
What are the different types of weddings Camp Monroe has offered?
We offer traditional wedding day experiences, but we have had many groups that are interested in a more laid-back wedding weekend instead of a single-day event. We have McKnight Lodge and cabins available for overnight guests. It’s not uncommon for guests to be driven in from airports and stay long weekends. With many activities and plenty of space to spread out, destination weddings of 50-100 can easily be accommodated.
What decorations are allowed?
You are welcome to decorate the inside and outside of your reserved building(s) if it is not a permanent change to the building (ex: drill holes). For previous weddings, groups have wrapped trees with lights, hung decorations from windows, wrapped beams, placed speakers, and arranged greenery.
Can we take pictures?
Yes! For bridal pictures, we recommend scheduling with the Office Manager to ensure your needed level of privacy, as most of our weekends have other groups. We understand if you would like more privacy for bridal pictures.
What options are there for outdoor ceremonies?
The most popular choices for an outdoor ceremony are the field next to Boyd Hall or the lakefront (sand or grass).
If you would like a ceremony in any field or a more wooded area, feel free to ask the Office Manager so we can move chairs to your desired location!
Most outdoor locations have limited or no electrical hookups.
How far out can I book my wedding?
Currently, we reserve up to 1 year in advance.
